Action Against Hunger is a New York-based international aid organization
actively participating with tsunami relief efforts in both Sri Lanka and
Indonesia, delivering hundreds of metric tons of water-sanitation items,
emergency food rations, oral rehydration salts, and high-nutrition biscuits for beneficiaries. "New York restaurants can participate by donating anywhere from 10% to 100% of their gross sales on the night of Wednesday, February 9th," said Action Against Hunger spokesperson John Sauer.

"The immediate challenge is to prevent cholera and other water-borne
diseases, because the devastation has polluted water supplies."

"The task of rebuilding life after such unthinkable devastation will take
many years. New Yorkers can support the relief effort in South Asia in the
simplest way: by eating out on one special night," explained Commissioner Guillermo Linares. "This is an opportunity for NYC local businesses and residents to make a difference in South Asia."

COME HUNGRY - LEAVE FULFILLED! Action Against Hunger is calling ALL New Yorkers to help by simply dining out on February 9th at one of the
participating restaurants. Wine, dine and don't forget dessert because every
little bite makes a difference!

90 cents of every donated dollar directly supports our programs.

All armarked funds will be used solely for relief and rehabilitation activities within tsunami-affected South Asia.
